AFRY Future Stars programme consists of summer work and the suitable amount of part-time work alongside the studies. The program includes four training days, which support your development.
During the training days, you will learn important skills about working in the consulting business and finding your professional potential. As a Future Stars trainee you are supported by your manager and trainee network in finding your career path and developing you professionally. You will be also supported by your own tutor throughout the programme.
Work tasks are defined individually depending on the trainee’s situation, knowledge and interests. During the programme you can also negotiate about a possibility to write your thesis for AFRY. The programme begins in May 2025 and lasts for half year to one year.
We are looking for a Stars Trainee to our Forestry, Biomass and Carbon team!
Our Forest, Biomass and Carbon Team within the AFRY Management Consulting’s Bioindustry business area provides leading-edge consulting and advisory services. We cover the entire biobased value chains, focusing on the upstream part of the chain, including among others topics such as feedstock availability, sourcing and markets as well as nature based carbon solutions. We are a growing team of around 30 management consultants located in Finland, Sweden, Germany, Indonesia and the UK and are looking to strengthen our group with new talents.
Your daily tasks would be to work with our consulting team on interesting client projects within the bioindustry sector with varying scope and responsibilities, such as:
Market research, e.g. interviews, data analysis and forecasting
Support for techno-economic analysis in natural resources, nature based solutions and biobased value chains
Data collection and database maintenance
Prepare analyses and deliverables for presentation and project proposals
Who are we looking for?
You are a student in Engineering, IT, Natural Sciences or Business at the end of your studies (3rd-5th year student). You have a genuine desire to learn and develop yourself, as well as patience to develop into a professional in your field.
You are a suitable Future Stars Trainee for our team if you have:
University studies (M.Sc. or similar) in Natural Resources, Economics, Finance or Business with good academic performance, graduation within next 1-2 years
Motivation and interest in pursuing a future career as a management consultant
Strong communication and co-operation skills
Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills and very good command of MS Office tools (mainly Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Data-oriented and solution oriented mindset with ability to work also independently
Fluency in English (oral and written)
