We are now looking for an experienced and analytical Business Analyst, Strategy 

As a Business Analyst, you produce and integrate market and business analysis with strategic business support to assist management teams, key personnel, and other internal stakeholders in making data-driven and insight-informed decisions. Your work directly contributes to achieving our strategic goals and advancing business development initiatives. 

In this role you conduct and implement market and business analyses. You collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop strategic insights that drive business growth. Additionally, you play a key role in presenting findings and recommendations to senior management, supporting informed decision-making. You also assist in acquiring external data sources and participate in various negotiations. The Business Intelligence team have over a hundred external partners supporting our work. 

Our team focuses on gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing critical market and industry data to inform VTT's strategic decisions. We are fifteen top specialists who work in diverse roles, identifying trends, opportunities and risks that shape VTT's long-term strategy, ensuring our research and innovations align with global challenges and goals of our clients. Our passion lies in market analyses, patent landscapes, and information acquisition processes. Last year, our analyses spanned nearly twenty different industries, and we produced around two hundred precise and impactful reports. We utilize a wide range of data sources and prioritize interactive dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders. Our work is flexible: we operate in a hybrid model, working from multiple locations, but we meet regularly at least once a month in Espoo.

As a Business Analyst, you will: 

• Conduct and implement market and competitive analyses. 

• Monitor and report on market trends and changes in the business environment. 

• Develop and present strategic recommendations to management and other teams. 

• Support business development by identifying new market opportunities and risks. 

• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and other teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals. 

• Participate in the development and implementation of business plans and strategies. 

Who we are looking for: 

• You have a solid background in market analysis, business analysis, business development, or strategic consulting, with at least 5-10 years of relevant experience. 

• You possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights. 

• You have experience working with cross-functional teams, particularly in management, to align business strategies. 

• You are proficient in using databases and data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar) to support decision-making processes. 

• You have excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling you to clearly convey strategic recommendations to stakeholders. 

• You have an interest in a wide range of research sectors and are willing to work with different industries. 

• You are interested in using AI tools and are eager to learn more about them. 

• You are proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. 

• You hold a degree in business, economics, or a related field. 

• You have demonstrated experience in industrial experience, for example in the machinery or energy industries. 

• You are fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
