Head of Strategic Development
At Veikkaus, we are focused on building strategic capability and execution expertise that empowers teams and drives high-impact results. We’re searching for a Head of Strategic Development to become an integral part of our Strategy team, driving our strategic projects, analysis and growth initiatives. This position is permanent and full-time.
As Head of Strategic Development, you’ll be accountable for project results, timetables, risk management and quality of the execution. This is a central role in driving and guiding strategic project teams in matrix, making sure they have the right plans, ways of working and clarity to perform at their best. Bringing strategic thinking, project leadership and analytical skills into everyday practice will be a big part of your focus.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Lead Veikkaus strategic projects and ensure business case definition and benefit realization monitoring
Convert complex strategic analysis to executable recommendations to facilitate decision-making; create strategic materials with high quality
Provide strategic guidance and expertise to help resolve challenges, supporting teams in delivering results
Develop and manage strategy frameworks and practices e.g. for scenario building and foresight
Manage organizational engagement and change management supporting key leaders to lead development in their organizations
What we’re looking for:
We value a colleague with an energetic, hands-on mentality, business acumen and analytical skills. You should be experienced in managing e.g. large-scale strategic programs or PMOs, and you have a proven track record of delivering results in matrix context. The ideal candidate knows how to drive execution and brings a management consultancy toolbox with mindset that values continuous improvement.
You’ll be successful in this role if you have:
Academic degree e.g. in economics, finance, strategy or industrial engineering and management
At least 3-5 years of management consultancy experience
Proven experience in running programs or multiple projects with strong PMO skills
Budget, cost and profitability management skills
Advanced conceptual thinking, particularly on challenging topics to develop solutions
The leadership and collaboration skills to be a team player and build excellent stakeholder relationships
Excellent skills in English
