Ponsse – Application Architect

We are looking for an experienced Application Architect to join Ponsse Group’s Digital Services & IT in Finland.

In this role,  you will be collaborating with development teams and developers to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications and with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs.

You will develop high-level technical specifications with attention to system integration, feasibility, and solution architecture. You will create architectural blueprints and documentation, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical requirements. You work closely with High-level Design teams, developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to deliver scalable, maintainable, and modern technical solutions.

Additionally, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, communicate architectural decisions and strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Furthermore, you will provide functional and/or technical expertise to plan, analyze, define, and support the delivery of future functional and technical capabilities for an application or group of applications.

Required qualifications in this role:

• Suitable educational background from the relatable field e.g. computer science, Information Technology, etc. Advanced certifications in architecture or software development are a plus.

• Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture, including expertise in mobile application development.

• Experience of Scrum and agile methodologies.

• Knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and containerization.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and knowledge of cloud-native solution architecture, with expertise in Microsoft Azure services.

You will be part of the Ponsse’s Digital Services & IT team, reporting to Senior Manager, Digital Services and working closely with the team globally across the Ponsse countries and subsidiaries.

We have offices in Kuopio, Kajaani, Vieremä, Iisalmi, Tampere or Turku, but we are working flexible hybrid model accross the Finland. Some amount of travelling will be required in this role.
