Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Navigational Trainer to join our Finland Marine Academy at ABB Oy, Marine and Ports Division in Vuosaari, Helsinki. In this role you will be responsible for developing and delivering training materials and trainings for Azipod® equipped vessel operators and internal personnel. You will participate in the business development of the Global Marine Academy and provide support to Global Marine Service centers. Participation in development of new bridge solutions is also part of the job. You are a natural communicator, enjoy working with others, and adapt well to changes.
This position reports to Training Manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Developing training material and delivering training courses
- Participating in the business development of the Global Marine Academy
- Providing support for customers and the team worldwide
- Participating in product development
- Assisting the training manager when needed
Qualifications for the role:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in a marine related field, for example Marine Technology, Maritime Management, or other relevant educational background
- Strong previous experience in providing trainings for end customers
- At least two years of experience working at sea
- Ability and interest to solve technical problems and proven customer orientation
- Strong knowledge of the purpose and function of the main components in marine electrical pro-pulsion systems
- Excellent presentation skills: strong vision to developing training material and delivering training courses
- Fluent written and spoken English skills
