Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) is a multidisciplinary institution focused on impactful research, development, and collaboration. SeAMK is seeking a dedicated and innovative Research Lecturer to join our Bio- and Food Technology unit for a fixed-term, 3-year position.

Research Lecturer

The successful candidate will contribute to advancing SeAMK's research, development, and innovation (RDI) work through various food industry projects, take an active role in teaching and supervising student theses, participate in international networks, and actively pursue new funding opportunities for projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research and Development: Lead and collaborate on RDI projects within the food industry, focusing on food technology, food sciences, and related fields.
- Teaching and Supervision: Deliver engaging instruction in bio- and food technology courses and provide supervision for students' thesis projects.
- International Collaboration: Participate in existing international networks and foster new collaborations to strengthen SeAMK's presence in the global food technology community.
- Project Acquisition: Identify and secure new funding for projects by preparing and submitting competitive grant proposals to both national and international funding bodies.

Qualifications:

- A doctoral degree in Food Technology, Food Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Experience conducting research and development projects in the food industry.
- Proven teaching experience in higher education with a focus on student-centered learning and thesis supervision.
- Track record of engagement with international collaborations and networks.
- Experience in preparing and securing funding proposals for research projects.
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Finnish is an advantage.
- A pedagogical qualification or to be prepared to complete it within three years.

The start date is earliest February 2, 2025, or as otherwise agreed. Conditions of employment are stipulated in the SIVISTA collective agreement for universities of applied sciences. A trial period of 6 months is applied in the position. Location is Seinäjoki, Finland.
