What kind of summer job awaits you?

The scope of your work at Metsä Group will be varied and offer a wide range of learning opportunities. The tasks range from routine and assisting assignments to larger projects with more responsibility and development work carried out independently, depending on your own experience and willingness to develop your competencies.

As a summer trainee in Metsä Group’s maritime logistics service centre in Espoo, you will perform short-term logistics planning (sales order and capacity balancing). The service centre provides maritime logistics and ports coordination related services to our business areas and cooperates with stakeholders. Daily operations like processing maritime transport requests, making bookings and delivery follow-ups are part of your tasks. In addition, you perform logistics invoice checks, manage logistics supplier quality deviations and maintain logistics master data in various systems. You are in the key role to solve daily issues and to ensure a high service level and quality of our deliveries. You participate actively in the cooperation with port operators and shipping lines and contribute also to continuous improvement of the maritime logistics processes, tools and ways of working.

What we expect from you?

We expect you to be reliable, flexible, proactive and cooperative. We value your customer service and teamwork attitude as well as ability to work independently. You are also willing to learn and develop on the job.

We expect you to have relevant education in logistics, supply chain, business or technology. Previous experience in logistics or supply chain in manufacturing or shipping environment is an advantage. We value your customer service and teamwork attitude as well as process orientation. You can work under pressure and balance between multiple priorities. You have good written and spoken English skills. Knowledge of any other Metsä Group local languages (e.g. Swedish, German) is an asset. Your experience in ERP and transportation management systems is regarded as an advantage.

Personal details such as name, mother tongue, time of studies, name of educational institution and contact details are hidden until the interview stage. Attachments (such as CVs) are also hidden.
