Back End Software Developer, Draw Games

Are you an experienced developer with a passion for learning and growth? We are seeking a Full Stack Back End Software Developer to join our team working on Veikkaus' draw games product family. This is a permanent, full-time position. 

Our team develops and maintains the backend systems for Veikkaus' draw games—business-critical, high-volume, cloud-native solutions built on a composable architecture. From scratch design and development to solving complex challenges, we ensure secure, high-quality, and maintainable systems. With financial transactions at the core, reliability and professionalism are paramount. We foster a culture where freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. 

Veikkaus offers a wide range of games and gaming products. Our technology has gained international recognition, enabling safe, responsible, and innovative gaming experiences in Finland and abroad, through our subsidiary Fennica Gaming. In this role, you will develop game services used by customers online and at retail, contributing to Veikkaus' international expansion. 

Technologies and products we use include, but are not limited to:  

Java, Kotlin, Typescript, PostgreSQL, Redis, SpringBoot, React, Nginx, Kubernetes, Terraform, Grafana, GitLab, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), GCP Bigquery, GCP Cloud Run, GCP Pub/Sub, and Linux. 

We expect you to: 

• Have strong skills in Java and JVM languages 

• Have at least 3+ years development experience on the backend side  

• Be familiar with some of the other technologies listed above 

• Have experience in full stack system development, preferably in cloud environments 

But most importantly, be eager to learn more and produce high-quality, comprehensive solutions.

Additionally, we hope you to have: 

• A passion for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software systems 

• Good collaboration and communication skills 

• Proficiency in both Finnish and English

Veikkaus prefers a flexible hybrid work model between a remote workplace and an office.
